    Does air attenuate laser power?

A common misconception about lasers is that they 'lose' power going through air. This demonstration video shows that they do not. The inverse square law applies to point sources of light - not to lasers. All lasers are slightly divergent, but the beam is still collimated and all the laser power can be concentrated to a small spot.
